Praxar Sponsors the Inaugural RRC Polytech / University of Winnipeg Marketing Case Competition
On March 12, Praxar was proud to sponsor the inaugural Marketing Case Competition hosted by RRC Polytech and the University of Winnipeg’s Faculty of Business and Economics.
The event brought together eight student teams, each given just three hours to read, analyze, and develop a marketing strategy for a case before presenting their recommendations to a panel of judges. Three hours may sound like a lot of time until you consider what it takes to transform a complex case into a clear and compelling strategy.
And yet, the students rose to the challenge.
What stood out most was their fearlessness. Perhaps they were nervous, but it never showed. Each team stepped forward with confidence, delivering 15-minute presentations followed by thoughtful exchanges with the judges, demonstrating not only their preparation but also their ability to think critically in real time.

Moments like these are where learning really shifts from theory to practice. Students move beyond concepts and into action, learning to collaborate, make decisions under pressure, and clearly communicate their ideas. These are the kinds of experiences students remember long after the course ends, and they are exactly what Praxar is proud to support.

The competition took place in the Roundhouse auditorium at RRC Polytech, a space that immediately leaves an impression. More than just an architectural feature, the Roundhouse reflects the history and culture of the land, including the Morning Star design embedded in the floor. Standing in that space and watching students present their ideas added a deeper sense of significance to the day. There was a moment, just before presentations began, where you could feel the mix of anticipation and excitement from both students and faculty.
Behind the scenes, events like this require vision and dedication. Special recognition goes to Harv Mock, instructor at RRC Polytech, whose commitment helped bring this inaugural competition to life. Launching a first-time event is no small undertaking, and the energy throughout the day made it clear that this is only the beginning of what will hopefully become a lasting tradition.
The competition was further strengthened by a panel of judges who generously contributed their time and expertise: Joelle Foster, Dr. Wendy Yan, and Taras Wasyliw. Their thoughtful questions and feedback provided students with valuable real-world perspective, elevating the overall experience.

Praxar was proud to support the event by sponsoring part of the prize category and providing merchandise for participants. Representing Praxar, Danica Mott presented the prizes to the winning teams, celebrating the creativity, effort, and professionalism demonstrated throughout the competition.
Beyond the presentations themselves, the event also created meaningful opportunities to connect with faculty members, program leaders, and members of the academic community who share a commitment to experiential learning.
At Praxar, we believe that experiences like this help shape the next generation of business leaders. Watching students apply their knowledge in real time, challenge their thinking, and stand behind their ideas is a powerful reminder of why experiential learning matters.
Congratulations to all participating students, and sincere thanks to the organizers, faculty, judges, and volunteers who made this first Marketing Case Competition in Winnipeg such a success.
Praxar was honoured to be part of this inaugural event and looks forward to seeing it grow in the years ahead.
